Ash arrives at Viridan City with a hurt Pikachu. After treating his Pikachu, Misty arrives, furious about what happened to her bike. Ash sees a wall that has 4 Pokemon on it: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Arcanine. Ash points at Articuno, claiming that it was the flying Pokemon he saw.

Later that day, Team Rocket, which consists of a trio: Jessie, James, and Meowth are introduced. They invade the Pokemon Center & attempt to steal the Pokemon. Pikachu manages to protect the Pokemon & defeat Team Rocket. Because of this, Team Rocket has a strong desire to capture this Pikachu & take it to their boss. With that, Ash & Misty leave Viridian City. ut then Ash meets a Caterpie & attempts to capture it.
