Ash confronts the Caterpie & throws a Pokeball & captures it. After his capture, he battle another Pokemon: Pidgeotto. A bad idea to use Caterpie against Pidgeotto. He manages to capture Pidgeotto as well.

Meanhwile Team Rocket are nearby, planning on stealing Pikachu this time. We learn that Misty hates bugs, so she stays away from Caterpie. Ash & Misty fight Team Rocket & Caterpie battles Team Rocket. Ash manages to defeat them, sending them off. Ash thanks Caterpie but Caterpie goes to Misty & she prepares to touch it but it begins to shroud itself in silk. It evolves into Metapod!
