Set in Springfield, the average American town, the show focuses on the antics and everyday adventures of the Simpson family; Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, as well as a virtual cast of thousands. Since the beginning, the series has been a pop culture icon, attracting hundreds of celebrities to guest star. The show has also made name for itself in its fearless satirical take on politics, media and American life in general.

Spoilers: Krusty has to hire a new sidekick for his show called Princess Penelope. At first, he hates he since she steals the spotlight with her princess antics that the girl audience enjoys a lot. However, after she confesses her love for him, he starts falling for her and wants to marry her. He gets cold feet during the wedding, but just as the episode ends, he maybe marrying her afterward. Who knows what the future will hold for them and the show.

There is a subplot with Homer getting angry over not having donuts at work anymore so much that he wants to leave the Power Plant. The subplot is more of a throwaway that doesn’t really add to the enjoyment of the episode outside a couple of good jokes.

What makes the episode good outside of the story between Krusty & Penelope and how Bart is taking the whole situation, is Anne Hathaway’s performance as Penelope. She portrays the character very well, adding good depth, emotion, and using her singing abilities to bring this character to life. I hope to see more from her in the future.

All in all, a very good episode with a very good guest star, but with an average subplot, makes this an enjoyable episode that is fun to watch and is fun to imagine the future possibilities that came from the episode.
